Modern Georgia Farmhouse

Species: Poplar (ThermA Siding™)

Location: Georgia

A modern farmhouse in Georgia pairs vertical Poplar ThermA Siding with natural stone and a standing seam metal roof to create a warm, contemporary exterior.

Installed unfinished at the homeowner's request, the thermally modified poplar was designed to naturally weather and develop a soft silver patina over time. The evolving surface allows the material to age gracefully while maintaining the dimensional stability and durability expected from thermally modified wood.

Specified for its stability and chosen for its character, ThermA Poplar adds smooth grain and modern appeal to the home's vertical siding. Each board was thermally modified in Macon, Georgia, using nothing but heat and steam—no chemicals, no compromise. The process enhances Poplar's naturaldurability, delivering a decay-resistant material backed by a 20-year warranty.

A year after installation, the siding has settled into its intended story: natural tones mellowed into a rich, silvered patina that highlights the warmth, depth, and timeless character only real wood can offer.
